There is currently a pathway (EB-5 visa) for wealthy people from other countries to immigrate to the US, they need to create a business here which employees 10 people and invests $1m.
The vast majority of these migrants are well off conservative leaning people fleeing crazy European politics.
My suggestion is to change this to allow building of new housing and reduce the requirements to $250k, maybe even less in swing states!
This would provide a long-term political counterweight to all the recent arrivals and will obviously create more businesses/homes and employment.
Also the people applying for these visas are very different to what has been happening - they have skills, money to support themselves, a real passport so can be thoroughly background checked and filtered.
There is too much fraud in all these visas. We need to get a better idea of those who came here for the last 34 years. I would tell them to go back to their on country and build that up. Americans have been shoved aside and its time to create policies that develop THEM and put them 1st instead of tax breaks for hiring foreign h1b.
Agree with all policies that help people born here, but we can walk and chew gum. This policy will help bring some electoral balance to the time bomb that the Dems have set.
It will also bring in real investment capital & potentially build more homes.
No, they bring in people from their own countries and do not hire locally. There has been an increase of fraud with the eb-1 because certain countries feel entitled to be here. Their culture doesnt see fraud, lying or cheating the same as we do here.
So no…we do it here with citizens.
I would limit the number, further limit by country
and require they hire Americans and not citizens from their original country. Side note, I would make denaturalization easier.
