Pharmaceutical Companies should not be allowed to raise their costs by more than 5% (open to 3% or 4%) per year without special permission from FDA where they would have to show cause. This would limit gouging and companies buying other drug companies just to raise prices and grab profits.
@Mmiskulin72 I appreciate your proposal and would like to add to it.
- We need to make our pharmaceutical products in the USA. Importing them from China and India has made us too dependent on supply-chain infrastructure.
- As we hopefully move toward a healthier nation, perhaps our raw ingredients will have a chance of being more pure (eg. no lead or arsenic). Plus herbals and nutraceuticals can flourish.
- Finally, there are still some wonderful small business compounding pharmacies who we could support in this endeavor.
We need to detangle ourselves from Big Pharma for a whole host of reasons. Then it could put pressure on their price structure in support of your proposal.
