In the United States of America 18 years old is considered an adult. It doesnt make any sense that the FAFSA requires parents to submit their income information for their adult children. Either 18 is a child or an adult, you cant have it both ways. It cant be an adult when you want to draft our teen sons or date our teen daughters but a child when its time to figure out financial aid. There should be a base income applied to all applicants that is a reasonable amount a college student should be able to make as standard and deductions based on other personal assets of the student from there.
