What came across my desk in a K-6 elementary
A document that stated what the child 5th grade wanted to be called ( they/ them) Changed her name to a boys name and what the parents wanted was
( She / Her ) the parent decision was crossed out. I believe the parents had no idea their daughters name at school had been changed.
The school districts policy was to go with child an d not tell the parents.

I’m 100% about parental control over education. We need to empower parents to step up and take back their power instead of giving it over to teachers, schools, and school districts to make the decisions. Thank you.

Absolutely! Until the age of 18, the parent or guardian should have authority over the child-not the school.
