No US taxes for US citizens living abroad

Americans who live permanently abroad should not be required to pay taxes in the United States. In most other countries, taxation is based on residency, meaning individuals are taxed in the country where they spend more than six months of the year. The U.S. system of taxing citizens regardless of where they reside is an exception to this rule, and it places a financial burden on those who have chosen to make their lives outside the country, while still complying with local tax laws in their country of residence.
