Drug tests should be mandatory for welfare and state aid.
I have used this temporary aid at only a time in need and it is being taken advantage of and people are staying on it and abusing the resources.

I absolutely agree with this.
I whole heartedly agree with this! Welfare was designed, for the working class, to be a temporary assistance durring a time of hardship. Not a lifestyle! Too many times we have seen people abusing that system while those of us that are required to pass a drug test to work for our money struggle to keep food in our childrens bellies.
I don’t think drug use should stop resources to people. There needs to be other guidelines set in place.
Does that cover elected officials living and thriving and exploiting federal funds? Money meant for our needs and our ability to thrive as us citizens but spent in foreign aid while American’s are devastated by natural disasters. $750 for their immediate needs and many were denied that. No one serving their country as an elected official should make more than the people they serve. I’d much rather support a person trying to better themselves than any gov’t employee or other entity looking down their noses at them but supporting the crime and corruption run by our government. However, there should be a three strikes clause. If you’re on public assistance and not enrolled in preventative care for your addiction, then either you have 30 days of longer if there is a waitlist. Proof of Application to said service should be presented. They need to stay enrolled and have a plan to achieve self-sufficiency. Hence the three strikes.
I know this because I used to have an addiction and probably still do but its controlled. I do not get welfare nor any government assistance. My issues are from trauma that started when I was 10 months old. I was stolen from my mother and placed in a home where I was beat, verbally and emotionally abused as well as sexually abused before I was 5 and until I turned 15 going to be sixteen. A home the state and federal government deemed safe. I’m alive but many kids from the system will never get another birthday due to the failure to protect through criminal negligence by the state employees and the federal government’s refusal to be proactive.
Kids like Laila Marie Daniel murdered by foster parent. Who was a district attorney intern.
Alexandria Hill tortured and then murdered by foster parent,
Devani exploited as a toddler by a sex cult foster home and CPS ignored that fact. The next home nearly killed her.
Marcus Fiesel died alone in a closet while his foster family went to a family reunion for over 2 days. They took the family dog with them, then they burnt his remains after they found him dead when they came home. They were in a three-person relationship while being foster parents. Are you telling me CPS investigated this home prior to placement.
Grace Packer reported as a runaway but was murdered by her adoptive mother and adoptive mother’s boyfriend. Adoptive mom worked for CPS in adoptions…
Shannon Aumock yet another child lost to a system of deceit and corruption. She was murdered and buried in a grave for the poor for nearly twenty years before it was discovered who she was. Are you telling me CPS never checked the hospitals or the morgue? When they were asked about it, they said they would just put her back in care if found. Like no harm done but yes harm was done if officials knew who she was and where she was from, they could have stopped a serial killer. Criminal negligence. Far to many cases of abuse, exploitation, neglect and murder from within this system.
I also believe that there should be a limit of how long you can be on welfare assistance. I believe that 2 years should be the maximum. Then these women who have excessive children so that they can stay on welfare would stop. Our system encourages them to have more children so they can keep getting funds. It’s abuse!!!
I work and still need SNAP. Drug tests would be expensive and helping people get off drugs would be a better solution than drug testing people who need help with food. There are already limits in place for benefits and no, you don’t get more benefits for more children. People living under the poverty level are the ones who qualify for benefits. There are also work programs in place for people since Bill Clinton was in office.
As someone who has worked with this population for two decades, I completely agree. They abuse the system and get rewarded with free $$. I don’t even get to eat as nice as they do and my money goes to them for them to trade their benefits for drugs. Has to stop!
