Lobbying should be illegal because it allows wealthy corporations and special interest groups to disproportionately influence lawmakers, undermining the democratic process. When money is used to sway political decisions, it creates a system where policies are shaped by those with the deepest pockets, rather than by the needs and voices of ordinary citizens. This leads to legislation that prioritizes corporate profits over public welfare, weakens trust in government institutions, and perpetuates inequality. By making lobbying illegal, the playing field for policy-making would be leveled, allowing for more transparency, accountability, and decisions made in the public interest rather than for private gain.
Boosting this because lobbying is horrible.
Lobbying must be illegal. Paying for “representation”, is buying influence. This is our country, each individual citizen, makes up the gov. this should be banned, period. If someone needs something done in their state, they should go to that states gov and present their idea, without Lobbying nor cash!! a good idea doesn’t have to be bought!
This has been proposed for a long time. How would you enforce making lobbying illegal? It seems impossible.
Lobbying MUST be illegal, because it is done behind the scenes away from people, with monetary gain and this is how we began to be corrupt in Washington. Where is it written that my word, must be valued over all my neighbors?? It can surely be considered, but by all, not lobbied for by any one person or corporation! Things must be done in the town hall, in public, no more “back room deals!”
