Agree with dismantling the IRS, or at least capping it to no more than 10%. We need those extra IRS workers on the border!

I agree with that. If the max is set at 15% does that mean no sales tax as well or are we only discussing income tax?

The 16th amendment authorized congress to lay a tax, but they never did because the 5th amendment (which has not been repealed) prohibits congress from doing so.

Even the construction of title in 26 USC states the entire title is not to be construed as legal. IRS taxes are a contract between the person and the Federal Reserve private Bank.

I like this idea. But , property taxes pay our essential workers our police ,fire fighters ,roads matience

How could we make sure these resources are safe. And, communities are maintained. Raise the state taxes?

I agree ecept for property tax. If you own something you should not have to pay tax on it every year. Plus 20% of the value is steep for the middle and lower class.

I have never understood why we have to pay property taxes every year on something that you already own. When you buy a vehicle, you already pay taxes on it (which I am aware is just a sales tax), but then every year after, you have to pay taxes on the vehicle. I do understand that some of the taxes are utilized for different things within your county (ex fire department, road maintenance, etc) but I do know that personally in our county, we had a tax increase for road maintenance and I see no road maintenance happening in areas that are severe. I don’t know what the money is going towards, or if it’s just being set back, but I don’t see my tax dollars being used.

100% onboard with this. Business taxes are only passed along to consumers, so i think ALL TAXES should be zero (0) across the board and Tarriff ANYTHING that enters this country.

I agree! Completely do away with them . It’s a shame a person works their life away so the government can remain huge and other countries benefit . They have to much power when they can levy and take peoples property for money they didn’t work to earn ! My money and my property ! IRS needs to go!

Taxation is extortion. Levying, is forcing. No taxes on Americans. Tax legal immigrants on visas here until they become citizens. Tariff imported goods. All the alphabet agencies need to go.

Don’t forget about Lincoln’s 1040 Voluntary War Bond. It’s still in use today. Still voluntary although some mistake it as mandatory. It can’t be both.

And this crap about paying tax on unrealized gains is crazy! We will probably never see the unrealized gain for starters and have to pay taxes on it??

We can start with removing the federal income tax and the IRS. Then we can leave Eritrea alone in the world in double taxing our expatriot citizens.

You believe that you will be wealthier by funding the government, primarily through tariffs (which is basically all you have left)? Do you realize how much the cost of goods would rise as a result of the necessary tariff percentages? It wouldn’t change anything. You are simply transferring the expense. They need to cut spending, eliminate waste and fraud, and reduce the deficit.

The government is not currently funded by taxes. The government is funded by printing money, which in turn is funded by the issuance of government debt in the form of treasury bills. You pay taxes to maintain the illusion that the government is funded by paying taxes.

There are countless Jurisdictions where sales taxes support those services. The difference is Citizens can control the tax by choosing to not buy goods or services that are over taxed. This is the check on out of control government spending. If you can’t say no you have no control.

Repeal the 16th Amendment. None of those taxes were Constutuional before the 16th Amendment.

Read Amendment 16. Before the 16 th only indirect taxation was legal.

Agreed, taxes are out of control. We need to fund some necessary common public services. - - - Perhaps we should re-assess after Elon Musk has streamlined government and reduced our budget and we see how the deficit is handled.
