I’ve thought a lot about how we can ensure voters know what they’re voting for without creating the possibility of biased voting tests. I think this may be the ideal solution.
- Representatives of each party submit interview questions.
- Each presidential candidate is interviewed for three hours by an interviewer of their own choosing. The interviewer must ask the questions that were submitted in step 1.
- In depth debates are held with a moderator from each party.
- During the election cycle, voters are required to watch each of the interviews and debates in some way that is verifiable.
- Proof of watching them must be submitted in order to vote.
This way, each voter must hear the candidates speak for themselves before choosing.
