Increase testing for home food preservation

Require the USDA to support those who practice food preservation by providing up-to date testing for home canning. I would guess there are more than 500,000 individuals that practice food preservation which includes canning. The testing completed by the USDA is outdated. There are new pressure canners on the market that have not been tested so deemed not safe. Home canners rely on govt testing to provide recipes for preservation of their home grown products but testing is limited and outdated.

Consult with master canners connected to social media groups to determine the needs of its followers.

Encourage manufacturing of canning supplies to be made in the USA.

Also test safe ways to water bath low acid foods because not every one has a pressure canner or feels comfortable using one.
