Allow parents over the age of 50 to be dependents on their children’s health insurance, even company sponsored. This bridges the gap between 50 to 65 when most people were be eligible for Medicare. When elderly people lose a job within the age gap, most go uninsured or turn to the Affordable Care Act insurance which is not affordable at all. Allowing parents to go onto their child’s health insurance policy would provide relief for Americans in a critical age period. This allows the parent the opportunity to get decent health care while also not putting them in financial ruin.

I agree!
We should have the ability to enroll on our parents as “Dependents” on our private insurance. This would ideally ease the financial burden of Medicare and allow children to care for their parents once they hit a certain age. As a country, we should create tax benefits for families to incentivize taking care of their elderly parents. Also on a side note, the cost to add our parents to our private insurance shouldn’t exceed the cost of having a child and adding them to our insurance.
The eligibility to become a dependent should be once they are 50+ or if they are disabled. We spend tons of money on medicare and it shouldn’t be the only option. Personally my parents took great care of me and I want to return the favor.
