Government healthcare for people with genetic diseases, preexisting conditions, or cancers

My husband has an increasingly less rare heart condition called Hyperteophic Cardiomyopathy. It’s a genetic disease that he had inherited from family. Basically the heart walls thicken reducing blood flow. We just recently found out our 7 month old son also inherited this disease. My father in law had the rarest form of HCM that we know of and was killed during malpractice of a triple organ transplant in a hospital in Dallas Texas. They rushed the surgery and missed bleeding in the artery of the heart causing a stroke. Leaving my mother in law with over a million dollar bill to pay for.

My husband, my father in law, and thousands of other people are fighting for insurance. Many are deemed “uninsurable” or they will only cover sick visits not related to the disease or disorder.

I think the government should have a program for those with cancer, disorders, genetic diseases, fatal diseases, etc so they are not forced to pay these bills that are astronomical for medically necessary care and surgeries.

Just have a doctor submit your diagnosis to a government healthcare program and then you get healthcare in whatever state you reside in. Even if there is a copay of a hundred dollars or less it’s still better than hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt.
