The Permanent Daylight Saving Time Act - Health - Policies for the People
Totally agree. Can’t believe we are still doing this. It does more harm than good. Time to get rid of it.
Frankly we should probably move our days to be permanently 2 hours early so people wake with the sun and have daylight in the evening before going to sleep
YES! Daylight savings is a disgusting policy that needs to be removed. It is supposedly there to help farmers, but farmers hate it, let’s get rid of this nonsense.
If you changed this to eliminate standard time, I would vote. DST is the optimal day/night ratio
Set the clocks to the real time (standard time) for the appropriate time zone and quite messing with the clocks. People will adjust to nature again. Winter daylight is short. That is simply the way it is.
Yes Permanent Standard Time, No Permanent DST. Align clocks to sun for health, safety, and prosperity.
Restore permanent Standard Time (natural time), for circadian health, mood, safety, education, economy, and liberty. Please help stop permanent Daylight Saving Time (fast time), which misaligns clocks to force early waking, at the peril of schoolchildren, commuters, and workers.
Permanent Standard Time alone can end clock change without delaying sunrise, for well-being, prosperity, and lasting popularity. Standard Time is the honest clock, set to the sun; it is also known for this reason as natural time or God’s time. Standard Time balances morning and evening sunlight fairly. Its benefits to circadian health naturally improve immunity, longevity, mood, alertness, and performance in school, sports, and work. Standard Time protects start times for schoolchildren, commuters, outdoor laborers, and service personnel. It lets most people sleep naturally past sunrise most days. Permanent Standard Time has been observed without incident for decades in Arizona, Hawaii, all five US territories, and most nations. Most of Mexico restored permanent Standard Time in late 2022, and more American states have permanent Standard Time bills than ever before. Permanent Standard Time would also reduce the length and complexity of law both at the state and federal level (15 USC §260a, Uniform Time Act).
Permanent DST would delay sunrise in most states past 8:45am for a week or more, and past 8am more than three months. It has failed repeatedly, sometimes with loss of life. DST is a fast clock, set an hour ahead of Standard Time. Moving clocks to DST acutely deprives sleep; leaving clocks on DST chronically deprives sleep. DST’s circadian misalignment increases accidents, illnesses, and healthcare costs. It decreases learning, productivity, and earnings. Permanent DST would force constituents to wake an hour earlier than Standard Time in cold darkness. It would deprive sunlight from mornings, when it’s needed most. It would revert benefits of starting school later. It would delay morning news broadcasts until most people begin work. It would increase residential need for heat and air conditioning. It would disrupt worship for sun-timed prayers. Fewer states have permanent DST bills than before, and federal bills for permanent DST have fewer sponsors. Anyone who wants DST can simply wake earlier.
Scores of organizations and thousands of researchers, physicians, teachers, parents, religious leaders, and journalists on the right and left oppose DST (including permanent DST) and endorse permanent Standard Time. Among these are the Sleep Research Society, Society for Research on Biological Rhythms, National Sleep Foundation, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Neurology, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, National Safety Council, American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, Start School Later, editorial boards of Bloomberg, Orlando Sentinel, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Oregonian, South Florida Sun Sentinel, Daytona Beach News–Journal, contributors to Daily Wire, PragerU, Human Events, Cato, Breaking Points, Timcast, John Locke Foundation, and many more.
Please hear the nonpartisan consensus of history, science, and first-principles logic. Save time, money, and lives. Join the growing movement to ditch DST and restore natural permanent Standard Time.

NB:
For those who think they want the opposite policy, its thread is here:
Consider the children going to school in the dark - DST really messes with our circadian rhythm and makes it very hard with children in the mornings. (Not to mention trying to get them to go to bed at night in the summer!! )
Or go to work earlier. Waking up hours before the sunrises is detrimental to health, and would be the reality for too many people if DST were permanent. We need standard time for better health.
Absolutely on board with this one! Dump it once and for all. Get back to a normal rhythm and stay there. Amen!
Was so sad that Trump didn’t repeal daylight savings time.
Maybe he will, within the next four years. We all know that he needs to purge the rot and remove the traitors and fraud from our govt first, before we entertain less important matters, right? Just sayin’…he’s just started. Have some faith.
