I support a 32 hour workweek, but it’s a tough battle, even within Democrat circles.
I have proposed an idea that not only grants 12 weeks paid maternal leave.
But my proposal also offers full time working parents the choice to take 8 hours unpaid time off, in exchange for the federal government covering the employer’s share of that employee’s health insurance cost. This would alleviate worker concerns that a 32 hour work week would reduce their earnings, and it would alleviate business-owner concerns about the added potential added over-head costs.
