To receive benefits, all members of a household must be American citizens. Currently, a large migrant population is having children and receiving full benefits, including free housing. For example, in Connecticut, an undocumented mother with one child can receive a $2,500 housing voucher plus $300 per week for food, along with daycare assistance.
However, American citizens also abuse the system, and it has become a generational cycle. We need a complete overhaul. Stricter requirements should be in place - no drug use, no criminal record, and children over a certain age should not be allowed to live with their parents indefinitely. Additionally, households should be required to downsize once children move out.
I agree that Illegal Immigrants should not have access. How do you feel about LEGAL immigrants who are following the rules, working, and doing things like attending ESL classes? I am against illegal immigration, however, I do feel we need to improve the LEGAL process.
From simply observing what EBT card holders buy in the grocery store then seeing them get into new expensive cars, makes me suspicious of the level of fraud that must exist. Just spend an hour in any major inner city grocery store and you know the system is corrupt.
Definitely, concerning the legal process, but start with native born Americans!
In other countries you’re not allowed to become a citizen unless you can prove
that you can take care of yourself And contribute to society!
I desperately need housing help and have received a housing voucher in the past.
However, they dispense it for several dollars under the going rate of rent in the area
and you’re not allowed to pay the few dollars that they don’t cover. I’m talking single digits!
I received one that was $6 under what rent was and if I had tried to pay that and had
gotten caught I would’ve been forever disqualified. Thank God I have a sister who
rents a house but she wants to sell now and it’s even worse out there sice the plandemic.
And I sincerely don’t want to be mean or be misunderstood by this,
but no matter what it is I always come 2nd, and 3rd, and…to colored women
with 20 kids who are still reproducing to get more benefits. I feel like I’m being
punished for being responsible. The “legal migrants” always come first as well.
Besides that, we have homelessness among the elderly and veterans that should come first.
