For far too long we have been forced to buy food without knowing where our food comes from. Big corporations have lobbied for laws and regulations that prevent us from buy farm fresh milk, fresh canned garden vegetables or meat grown from local farms.
Every State has a ridiculous amount of red tape preventing American`s from purchasing these products at their will. I guess I should rephrase to USDA and Department of Health and so forth have laws and regulations in place preventing farmers and homeowners from selling these products.
In most states if you can sell farm fresh milk to get around the red tape you have to label it “not for human consumption”. This is a travesty, and people are outraged about it.
You know in Missouri I can sell farm fresh meat, but it must be processed in a USDA certified slaughterhouse. During the butchering process a USDA official watch the animal be killed and leaves. They don’t stand by watching the animal be packaged, processed or anything else. It`s a money laundering scheme. Many slaughter plants don’t want to get involved more than they already are involved with big brother, so it limits our places. We should be able to slaughter and process the animals and sell them as we wish.
We advertise and sell canned goods but if someone ask us to can produce for them we can. What kind of bs is that.
I realize all the States imposed and forced their regulations differently, but we should have food freedom. We should have the ability as adults to buy food from who we want to. We should have the ability to sell food as we wish. We shouldn’t be forced to buy from the big corporations and trust them. We should be able to know where our food comes from. We should be able to become friends with the people who produce the food on our table.
