The incentive for illegal immigration is to create a better life for yourself in simplest terms. The end purpose of immigration is to migrate to a place that aligns with ur beliefs and a place where u beileve you can thrive. People know that if they immigrate to the US illegally they can at anytime be removed from this country since they weren’t granted citizenship to this country. So a major insentive for breaking our immigration laws is that if you have a child here they are automatically a US citizen. Illegal immigrants use this policy as a foothold in this country because even if they are kicked out. They have family in our country that is now a legal citizen and have an easier path to citizenship due to that fact that they have a child here. It takes all the fairness to the people who actually share our beliefs and want to come make this country better and support that American way. The easiest way to deter illegal immigration so that our immigration laws actually work and decrease re-entry of these people who come here illegally would be to make a constitutional amendment that states that you must not only be born in the United States or United states owned land but must also have at least one parent who is a United States citizen. If both parents are illegal immigrants and they concieve a child here, then that child is not classified as a Native born American citizen and will be affiliated with their parents country of origin. This ensures our laws are not to be trifled with due to the fact that breaking them doesn’t give you an easier access to our country, gives the fair chance to those who actually love America and want this country to thrive not only for our sake but hopefully their potential chance at achieving the privilege of being American, and lastly it will cut billions of our tax money that we lose every year due to illegal immigration, which can then be used on actual American citizens.
Constitutional Amendments open pandora’s box. We could just cut funding, that would do the trick.
Thats temporary. Till the next democratic presidency comes in and does exactly what just happened this last administration. This removes all incoentive for illegal immigration period.
Any executive order is temporary, but quickly ending funding will lead to “self-deportation” and may help us with the Recession we are going through that they are going to blame on Trump even though it’s been going for several years. Then on to Congressional legislation. Waiting on a Constitutional Amendment takes many years, and I really question tinkering with the Constitution.
Thats why i said a constitutional amendement. Which he can now pass since he has the senate, congress and supreme courts
