The ashrae standards are onerous and are and have cost building owners millions of dollars. Auto control of 50% of office building receptacles is non sensible and doesn’t save energy costs. Receptacles don’t consume energy unless something is plugged in. This alone cost millions of dollars per year across the country. We need actual energy standards that make sense. Additionally all data centers need to produce their own electricity as they are the biggest consumers of electricity and cost everyday Americans more because the power companies have to upgrade infrastructure to provide what these data centers need.
