Curriculum/Education of Choice K-12

Every child is unique, with unique learning styles, and respond to different ways of engaging with learning.

This proposal puts forth the idea of using government funds to, instead of the current education system, establish small schools with small class sizes, each with a specialty.

For example, Woldorf schools, which mix all ages, allow young children to learn from older mentors while teaching older children how to be leaders and guide others.

Montessori schools, which have a hands on approach with an emphasis on independence and exploration.

STEAM schools that exist for the kids with mathematical, science and engineering interests, cultivating these skills.

Folk and nature schools that teach trades, life skills and nature exploration.

Each kind of school should be available to all children equally - being a education and curriculum of choice. School hours should be short, with an emphasis on movement and free play, even for older students.

This policy is child-centered, catering to individual strengths, interests, and talents. It preserves mental health, the love of learning, and a positive and creative atmosphere for teachers as well. It is these kind of policies that will strengthen America’s children, and America’s future. Let’s revolutionize education.
