Ban school requirement for doctor’s notes. So, I propose that schools cannot ask for doctors notes for sick children and threatening truancy letters if the child misses so much school. I am all for children not missing school if they don’t need to, however, there are instances where a doctor’s note doesn’t cut it. Sometimes children need mental health days or just a day to rest or recover from an illness they’ve already had for a while, but the school system berates parents for allowing children to miss school if they don’t need to. Also, it doesn’t make sense when the school says not to bring your sick kids to school, but if they miss, they require notes and send out the threatening truancy letters. Double standard anyone? Also, what if my child didn’t sleep well that night and just needs a day off? Well, a doctor visit is not necessary in that instance, but the school will not allow that to be an excused absense. I believe that alot of parents would want this too, especially since there are parents actually being arrested because their child has a chronic illness and they miss alot of school. This should not feel like a police state when it comes to this issue. PLEASE BAN DOCTOR NOTES FOR SCHOOLS AND NO MORE TRUANCY LETTER THREATS IF YOUR CHILD MISSES SOME SCHOOL FOR A GOOD REASON!

So true my child has multiple allergies and has asthma doesn’t take much to be sick. They say constantly if the child is sick keep them home but every day not in school has to have a excuse
