Instead of finding, evaluating, approving, harvesting, transporting, erecting, decorating and removal of a specimen evergreen from the forests of America why not find a relatively young specimen tree appropriate to the climate and soil conditions at the Whitehouse, plant it, nurture it for decades, decorate it and as usual.
Better yet, how about each state select a specimen evergreen from their own forests, transplant them to Washington, nurture them and decorate them every year BY THE STATES.
